Ould Newbury men's golf includes of golfers of all levels and all walks of life. ONGC offers a competitive yet fun atmosphere and all are welcome to participate, from scratch golfers to high handicappers.
In addition to the annual club tournaments (Club Championship, President's Cup and Labor Day Fourball), eight two-man and four-man team "Shootout" tournaments are also offered. These tournaments are held on weekend mornings and include a variety of formats. For every event, winning players earn points in the Shootout standings. At the end of the season the top 10 point holders (plus ties) are invited to participate in the Shootout Tournament, where players are eliminated on each hole, with just two players left at the ninth hole.
Ould Newbury hosts a formal Tuesday night men's league where twelve 4-man teams are selected by the Pro Shop on handicap basis. Each week, teams play against other teams in fourball matchplay format to win points over an 11 week period. Teams may tee off between 4:30 and 5:30, to accommodate various schedules.
There are a number of golfers at Ould Newbury that play regularly throughout the week. These groups welcome additional players and wait until the day of play to select captains and teams. There is a 7:00 AM group on Saturday and Sunday (when there is no tournament scheduled). During the week, there is an early morning group at 7:00 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
